Arindam leads the data team at Oviva AG where his team applies machine learning and advanced analytics tools to improve the lives of patients suffering from dietetics diseases. Oviva is an award-winning digital healthcare provider using technology to transform how dietitians treat diet and lifestyle related health conditions such as obesity and type 2 diabetes. Arindam received his PhD in Computer Science from the ICT Doctoral School of the University of Trento, Italy. During his PhD he worked on the application of machine learning and human computer interaction technologies to develop digital companions to collect, analyse and interpret continuous covert and overt signals (physiological data, mobile sensor data, structured and unstructured speech and text annotations) for detecting and managing stress and hypertension.\u00a0He has published in several IEEE and ACM conferences and journals on topics related to healthcare and was also the recipient of an Excellent Paper Award at IEEE Healthcomm 2018.<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div> \n <\/div> \n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\n\n\n

Oliver started working on wearable technology for automated dietary monitoring in 2004 and has co-authored over 200 scientific publications on context recognition, machine learning, biomedical sensor technology, wearable computing, digital health, and embedded systems. He is an Editorial Board member of IEEE Pervasive Computing, IEEE Open Journal of Engineering in Medicine and Biology (OJEMB), Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, Frontiers in Computer Science, and the IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics. Oliver held Professorships at several European universities. Recently he was elected Professor of Intelligent Embedded Systems at University of Freiburg, Germany and is a director at the Hahn-Schickard research center.<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div> \n <\/div> \n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\n\n\n
